Cargo Mission

In cooperation with the “Gleis D Skatehalle” community and “Share a bike, share a smile” we organized an international convoy to Lviv, Ukraine, where a lot of people were internally displaced as the result of feral invasion of russian fascists to Ukraine.

Fully packed Volkswagen van with four people on board: Simon Hehner, Tim Löbel, Gabrielle Goldsack and photojournalist Tom Girondel, who volunteered to document the trip, went from Hannover to Lviv with a few stops down the way.

Overview

Hannover to Lviv

Hannover extreme sport community quite empathetically tried to help out Ukrainian peers in many different ways, one of the challenges at the time was broken supply chains so we decided to step in and transport some highly anticipated gear directly.

Simon Hehner and Tim Löbel from Gleis D Skatehalle backed by Gabrielle Goldsack from “Share a bike share a smile”, took a long road trip down eastern europe straight to Lviv, Ukraine, and delivered much desired tools to Ukraine.

Mission

It's a completely volunteer project whose main idea was to bring humanitarian supplies for extreme sports athletes and aspiring kids in Ukraine. We collected skateboards, BMX bikes, various spare parts, shoes, and clothes. All these goods were provided by the Hannover community. Money for gas expenses was raised through several events which we were doing in Hannover to make this project happen.

After passing UA state border control, we came to Lviv and to give away the gear to people and also to few UA organizations which were delivering it. These boards reached Kharkiv, Dnipro, Kyiv and many other cities.
